We are pleased to introduce the newest member of O&N’s senior leadership team, New York Regional Director Robert Franco, PE. Rob manages the Manhattan office of O’Donnell & Naccarato, Inc.’s New York-based corporate affiliate O’Donnell & Naccarato Structural Engineers. Seamless collaboration with our affiliates allows for nationwide service and access to more than 64 years of engineering experience.
As Regional Director, Rob is responsible for leading NYC Metro projects and engaging and growing the firm’s client base. Over the past 20 years Rob has supported a wide range of complex building conversions, additions, and multi-family developments throughout the five boroughs and surrounds. His resume includes the 60-story Trump Plaza West tower in Jersey City, the Pier 17 retail hub in Manhattan, and the 24-story Amalgamated Warbasse Apartments facade rehabilitation in Brooklyn. Rob is a native New Yorker born and raised on Long Island. He cites his grandfather Mario, a master craftsman, as the inspiration for his career. Rob earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering, where he later studied structural mechanics and construction law as a postgraduate. With two decades of experience to call upon, Rob turned his focus toward education as a guest lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate Architecture Studio and Structural Systems Course Instructor for AIA New York. Rob was recently appointed as a Structural Subject Matter Expert to the DOB and ICC to help develop the first Existing Building Code for NYC.
